infancy of treatments for alcoholism and there will be many new forms of treatments in the future.
I would say that we are very poor at treating alcoholism at this time and I am hopefull that there will be better treatments in the future
As alcoholism is a mental and physical addiction, rather than a disease, it is difficult to treat - you can’t just prescribe someone antibiotics after all. Treating it is difficult because there are many different basic causes for alcoholism, and so mental treatment for the addiction is different for everyone. We’re never going to have a cure that works for everyone that can just be rolled out, and it’s always going to take time. Maybe the psychological treatments etc. will improve, but we’re never going to get to the point where we just prescribe a pill and hey, you’re no longer addicted.
Do you think that there will be better treatments for alcoholism in the future. I would say that we are in the?
